I've completed the Canadian Firearms Safety Course and have received my course report by mail, now what?

When is your next Canadian Firearm Safety Course?

We offer botht he Canadian Firearms Safety Course and the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course, click on the menu “Our Courses” followed by “Fireams Licensing” to see our list of courses.

Do you give courses to minors/children?

Yes we give the Canadian Firearms Safety Course to anyone 12 years of age and older. If under 18, this qualifies the individual to apply for a Minors Firearm License.
A minors license will allow a minor to borrow and be in possession of non-restricted firearms (rifles and shotguns) and acquire ammunition (if provincial regulations allow it).

When will I receive my firearm license or PAL?

Unfortunately, we have nothing to do with the licensing aspect of the Canadian Firearm Program we are only responsible for giving you the courses, the licensing portion is under the purview of the RCMP Firearm Program which can be reached at 1-800-731-4000

When will I receive my results from my course?

The course results are normally send to you by mail 4-6 weeks after you have taken the course. This will be coming from the Firearms Safety Education Service of Ontario. They can be reached at www.fseso.org or at 1-877-322-2345 ext. 101

What do I need to get my license Possession Acquisition Licence (PAL)?

First you will have to take and successfully pass the Canadian Firearms Safety Course that we offer. Then with the results of your course, you will be able to apply for a license with the RCMP Firearm Program.
In order to possess, borrow or to acquire a firearm or ammunition you will require your Possession Acquisition Licence (PAL).

When will I find out the address where my course will be given?

 When you open the page of the course you are interested in taking, you will see in the description of the said course the town in which it will be given. Also. two weeks before your course, you will be receiving the course joining instructions, which include the directions to your course.

Do you take donations of unwanted firearms?

Yes we do, please contact us to arrange pickup or delivery. Email us at: training@arcanedefense.ca

What is your refund policy on your courses?

Due to limited seating our courses are provided as a venue like a concert or sporting event. Courses are non refundable. Like concert venues, if a course is postponed due to a pandemic lockdown, we will push it to a future date.

Do you offer private courses?

​Yes, we do on a case by case basis. Please contact us for further details.

Do you offer live fire training?

Yes we do, we offer various levels of live fire courses, click on the menu “Our Courses” followed by “Live Firearms Training” to see our list of courses.

Do you offer the Ontario hunters education course?

We currently do not offer this course. Check back with us in the future. In the meantime, please contact Gilles Lecompte at the following Ontario Hunters Ed in Hammond, ON

Are you giving courses during COVID?

Yes, we are still giving courses. We have taken steps to assure the safety of all of our students during our courses in order to be able to give courses during the pandemic. Like all small businesses we are bound by provincial lockdown orders and some of our courses may be impacted by these lockdowns.
