This course is a one-day course (1 day on range).

Max of 12 students per course. Open to anyone 18 years of age and up who have successfully completed the Canadian Restricted Firearm Safety Course.

Student to trainer ratio not to surpass 3:1

The courses are offered primarily in English but all our instructors are fluently bilingual in both official languages.

Required equipment: Shooter must bring the following items: Hearing protection, eye protection, centerfire semi-automatic pistol or double action revolver (rentals available), commercial handgun ammunition (min. 250 rounds, recommended 300), water, lunch, clothes for inclement weather, closed toe footwear. Long sleeved shirt and long pants are highly recommended.

Disclaimer: Pistols to be used on this course should be in their original unmodified form as supplied by the manufacturer. Modified pistols to be accepted at the discretion of the training staff. Please contact us before attending course with a modified/upgraded pistol. RMR/mounted red dots notwithstanding.

AMMUNITION and GUN RENTALS

Ammunition can be provided at market value for the required caliber. Currently we can provide 9mm Luger, 40S&W, 45ACP or 38Spl. For all other calibers please inquire.

Pistol rentals available during the course at a cost (available in 9mm, 40S&W, 38Spl and 45ACP)* (i.e. Glock, 1911, P320 or similar)

*Note: Only commercial ammunition is to be used in rented pistols. You may bring your own commercial ammunition or it will be provided at the costs indicated above.

Topics covered during the course:

We will be emphasizing the marksmanship principles involved in precise shooting form a distance using a pistol. Other topics covered include one handed shooting and we will introduce the element of timed shooting.

Live fire training brief, including the assignment of a personalized instructor for the duration of the  live fire portion.

You will also be tested on the following: Level 2 Pistol Course of Fire (on range).

A certificate of completion is issued at the end of the course.

  • Proof of successful completion of the previous Level 1 Live Fire Pistol Safety Course of Fire (silver rating or above)
  • Liability Waiver
