REFRESHER – LEVEL 3 LIVE FIRE PISTOL COURSE – COMPETITIVE SHOOTING APTITUDES

This course is a one-day course on range, that serves as a refresher for those who have already taken the “Level 3 Live Fire Pistol Safety Course” previsouly.

Open to anyone 18 years of age and up who have successfully completed the Canadian Restricted Firearm Safety Course.

This course is geared towards shooters who wish to enter the competitive practical pistol shooting sport. The skillsets covered during course will help shooters become more adept at shooting sports such as IDPA, USPSA/IPSC and 3Gun.

This course will cover the use of magazine pouches, using a holster and developing muscle memory in pistol handling.

Requirement: Must have passed and obtained a Silver or Gold Rating on the Level 1 and Level 2 Pistol Course of Fire, and taken Level 3 previously.

Event Details

AMMUNITION and GUN RENTALS

250 rounds of ammunition can be provided at market value for the required caliber. Currently for 9mm Luger, 40S&W, 45ACP or 38Spl. For all other calibers please inquire.

Pistol rentals available during the course at a cost (available in 9mm, 40S&W, 38Spl and 45ACP)* (i.e. Glock, 1911, P320 or similar)

*Note: Only commercial ammunition is to be used in rented pistols. You may bring your own commercial ammunition or it will be provided at the costs indicated above.

A certificate of completion is issued at the end of the course.

**Special Note: Contrary to our regular training policy, because of the unpredictability caused by COVID lockdowns and curfews, we will refund courses for cancellations up to 6 weeks prior to the start of the course.

Required equipment:

  • Eye and ear protection
  • Semi-automatic centre-fire pistol (with min 3 mags) or double action revolver (with speedloaders)
  • Magazine pouch (must hold 2 mag minimum) or revolver speedloader pouch
  • Holster with or without retention (NO SERPA HOLSTERS and NO INSIDE THE WAISTBAND HOLSTERS)
  • Minimum 250 rounds of centrefire ammunition (recommend quantity 300), must be commercial ammunition
  • Water
  • Rigid belt sized for the holster
  • clothing for inclement weather
  • closed toe footwear
  • Long sleeved closed collar shirt and long pants recommended

  • Proof of Successful Completion of Canadian Restricted Firearm Safety Course
  • Proof of successful completion of the previous Level 2 Live Fire Pistol Safety Course of Fire (silver rating or above)
